Synopsis
Popular Narrative Media was a scholarly publication devoted to the study of the mass media and its cultural reception. It encompassed interdisciplinary research across historical periods and popular genres, including non-fictional forms. The journal dealt with narratives across all forms of popular culture as well as in more distinct media disciplines such as print fiction, film and television, advertising, music, theatre, the graphic novel, narrative painting, illustration, children's fiction and storytelling.
Published under the guidance of the Association for Research in Popular Fictions, Popular Narrative Media drew on the scholarly activities undertaken by ARPF and its connection with other research bodies interested in the study of popular culture. Our editorial board and consultative committee brought interdisciplinary expertise and encouraged the coverage of research concerned with methodology, cultural change, narrative discourse and the determinants of production.
2008 and 2009 issues of Popular Narrative Media are available online and accessible at www.popularnarrative.org. Online access is free to existing subscribers.
